Boroondara City Council improves pay offer at FWC

23 September 2024

Last Friday at the Fair Work Commission, the ASU, ANMF and staff reps attended a compulsory conference ahead of the protected action application filed by the ASU.

At the conference council tabled the following improved offer to resolve the bargaining dispute:

$650 once off cost-of-living payment to all employees

Year 1: $50 per week or 2.75% (whichever is the greater)
Year 2: $39 per week or the rate cap with a minimum floor 2% (whichever is the greater)
Year 3: the rate cap with a minimum floor of 2%

This will be back paid until the first full period after July 1.

The ANMF secured their claim for nurses to receive an extra week of leave.

This is a great improvement on council’s prior offers and is a $178 increase per fortnight by year 2.

ASU delegates who attended the commission were in support of recommending this offer to members. The ASU has agreed to withhold any industrial action and consult with members this week to get their final endorsement on council’s offer.

Paid member meetings have been approved by council and we ask that all members attend a meeting to be consulted:
