Seqwater Bargaining Update

Today The Services Union participated in further Enterprise Agreement (EA) negotiations with Seqwater. Following the last meeting, our Union was keen to make further progress on outstanding matters.

We came away from today’s discussions with an improved package now incorporating:

  • Stronger wording around approval for payment of unplanned overtime when dealing with critical incidents;
  • Enhanced provisions relating to overnight stays for emergency management;
  • Safeguarded remuneration when performing relief duties nominally at a higher level;
  • Flex accrual increased from 7.6 to 12 hours

Importantly, the package contains the full allowable pay increases available under the current (and strictly enforced) GOC Wages Policy.

Next steps
  • Once we receive an updated summary of the full package from Seqwater, we will circulate this to members.
  • Following this we will convene a report-back meeting to explain the offer and give you the opportunity to ask any questions.
  • We will then electronically survey all members to formulate our position on the offer which we will then report back to Seqwater.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please talk to your Workplace Delegates Martin Leung and Glynn Aland. If you work with someone who is not yet a member, remind them that joining is quick and easy online.
